Games are the way to learn!

My eldest daughter has started finding the most bizarre games online. Some just for fun and really girly. And some are educational. This game, called Questionaut brings a much needed simplicity to kids games without all the razzle dazzle of today’s high profile madness. Simple, fun, and requires a bit of thinking, even for us adults…

This game’s design is quite unique, yet familiar to me. I recognize the artwork coming from Amanita Design. Two years ago I’ve discovered by chance their other game – Samorost. It’s quite similiar in design, though it concentrates more on lateral thinking puzzles. Worth giving a try after you guys finish this one

Thanks Seb. I’ve just started on Samorost.
By the way, have you checked out the Adobe Air open source alternative at http://appcelerator.org/…
I did. It looks very very beta-ish for me (as developer and user) right now and I don’t find it attractive in any way. Apparently, they want to compete using “we’re totally open source” argument instead of “we have cool stuff” argument, which is a no-go for me. In this market it’s all about innovation and adoption and only big players have chance to push it through. I don’t see big future for Titanium.
That said, I’m a little bit disappointed with Flex world right now, as it seems a little stall last months. I know they’re working on Flex 4 and the direction they’ve chosen seems fair, there’s just no “wow” factor.
We’re yet to be amazed by Microsoft and their product (I hope). They have this “bad first impression” stigma as with Vista, but they are very resilient and will deliver very decent Silveright one day. This should raise bar for future Flex versions. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple or Google buys Adobe to “crush” Microsoft. Time will tell…
