Back in the office

Last week I took some much needed time away from da computer. That’s right, I was offline. At first it was a really strange feeling of being disconnected. Not being able to find stuff quickly and get access to information. It’s like waking up and there being no coffee in the house and no means to get more. Completing disorienting. But after a couple of days of going dry turkey you feel…better! Last week I learnt how to write again…
Alas it was a working mans holiday and I spent a lot of time grafting on the HelenT project. Ahhh, manual labour, build bones and puts hairs on ya chest. Grrrrr! So while, everyone else was doing manual labour, (I have enough hair on my chest), I looked around the property, ripping up carpets and the like and came across this old newspaper clipping. Clicking on the image there on the left you see that this happened in 1963. 1963! The paper was perfectly preserved under the floorboards. Amazing. However, what was even more interesting was its content. None of the usual man kills kid, kid kills kid, dog kills kid, kid kills dog. Instead, its a lot more tame and makes for enjoyable reading. No violence. The paper reflected a very differ world to the one we live in today. Kinda of humbling really…
